The Kasungu district of Malawi is a leading agricultural region, and during the harvesting season many families keep their children – usually girls – out of school to help look after their siblings. Because of this, many girls miss lessons and don’t have time to study. As a result, they lose interest in going to school or just get too far behind to catch up.

In addition, as a result of extreme poverty, many parents are not able to provide basic educational necessities such as tuition, school supplies, uniforms and examination fees to support their girls' education.

Join My Village offers a solution to many of these vulnerable girls by helping to assist with and fund their school needs.  Since 2009, Join My Village has supported more than 800 girls with scholarships – two of whom have returned to the district to become teachers!

You can help Join My Village support girls’ scholarship programs in Malawi, just by watching and sharing this video.
